Newcore Industries International Inc. seeks a Senior Architect to lead the design department, directing building science, materials choices, and constructability to deliver compliant, high-quality designs.
You will translate concepts into detailed drawings and specifications, enforce QA for all project documents, ensure code and life-safety compliance, and mentor junior staff while coordinating with MEPF engineers and the implementation team.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership: Manage the technical design department, providing strategic direction on building science, materials, and constructability.
Design Execution: Translate architectural concepts into highly detailed construction drawings and specifications.
Quality Control: Establish and enforce quality assurance protocols for all project documentation to minimize risks and errors during construction.
Code Compliance: Lead feasibility research, zoning reviews, and ensure all designs comply with local building codes, life safety regulations, and accessibility standards.
Team Management: Mentor, train, and oversee junior architects, architects, and other design staff, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
Cross-Disciplinary Coordination: Collaborate with other department such as MEPF (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing & Fire Protection) engineers, and implementation team.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field often preferred.
Licensure: advantage but not required
Software Proficiency: Expertise in CAD (AutoCAD, Revit) and BIM.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of architectural design, construction principles, and local building codes.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, planning, problem-solving, and time management skills.
Experience: Experience in creating construction documents and working through project phases.
