Job Description
Fixed Asset Team Lead supervises the day-to-day operations of the department and manages the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed timely and accurately. This position addresses tight deadlines and various accounting activities in relation to fixed assets and workflow. The ideal candidate must be detailed, organized, action orientated, creative and possess the aptitude and appetite for problem solving.
Key Responsibilities
Essential Supervisory Functions
- Perform supervisory duties such as performance evaluation, talent development, succession planning, disciplinary actions, etc.
- Cultivate growth through the development of high-potential employees.
- Evaluate, coach, reward, recognize employees and celebrate successes.
- Handle conflict and counsel employees that require disciplinary actions.
Essential Functions
- Ensure timely and accurate Fixed Assets processing, accounting, and reporting, operating within the company guidelines.
- Ensure the company's fixed assets are properly maintained for corporate and tax books, including capitalization, disposals, and transfers.
- Monitor completion of period-end closings, including FA to GL reconciliation and account analysis.
- Identify and manage the implementation of process improvements and efficiencies, while maintaining strong internal controls.
Required Experience and Knowledge
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and at least 5 years of relevant supervisory experience.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership by example and remain calm under pressure.
- Possess analytical/problem-solving skills and demonstrate financial acumen.
- Manage multiple projects and tasks without supervision.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, ability to prioritize and follow-through.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office and accounting software.
- Maintain high degree of ethics, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Operate within company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Flexible schedule as per departmental needs.
