Ingenious Solutions Inc. is seeking a Medical Coder Team Lead (Inpatient) to guide a coding team, ensure accuracy, and drive quality metrics. The role requires extensive inpatient coding experience and prior supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical or allied medical fields or equivalent clinical experience.
• Extensive inpatient medical coding experience required.
• Previous supervisory or team lead experience is a plus.
• Certified Coder AAPC or AHIMA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide the coding team in inpatient coding accuracy and productivity.
• Foster camaraderie and teamwork within and across teams.
• Monitor and drive staff performance with monthly touch bases and quarterly reviews.
• Coach and mentor staff to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Have you been a Medical Coder and previously led a team? We’d love to hear from you! We’re looking for a Medical Coder Team Lead (Inpatient) who can bring their experience, support their team, and grow with us.

Role and Responsibilities

• As leader of his/her team, a supervisor is expected to guide his/her staff in the direction that follows the values set forth by the company.
• Foster a spirit of camaraderie and teamwork among team members, within the team itself and with other teams as well.
• Monitor and drive improvement of staff in regard to set productivity and quality metrics by providing timely monthly touch base and quarterly performance review.
• Coach and mentor outlying staff with regards to his accuracy and efficiency ratings
• As mediator between client and staff, a supervisor needs to ensure a clear and open communication between the team and the client.This includes attending and facilitating client meetings.
• Ensure that guidelines and metrics are understood and followed to meet client satisfaction
• Address any issues or concerns the client may have and ensure that the all stakeholders are looped in on all essential conversations
• Address any issues or misunderstanding the staff may have in the event new guidelines are set forth by the client
• As mediator between upper management and the staff, a supervisor will need to ensure all communication and directives coming from upper management shall be relayed to all concerned staff in a timely and accurate manner
• Sees to it that there is strict staff adherence to company policies and rules and regulations
• For proper dissemination of information, a supervisor should have a deep understanding of company policies as well
• To address all staff concerns with regards to such policies and to ensure proper channeling of any issues and concerns

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical or Allied Medical courses or equivalent in relevant clinical work experience.
• Extensive Inpatient Medical Coding experience
• With previous supervisory, team lead or POC experience is a plus
• Certified Coder AAPC or AHIMA
• Possess strong verbal, written communication, interpersonal skills and analytical skills
• Amenable to work on-site and flexible shift schedule
