Job summary

Michael Page is seeking an experienced tax professional for a permanent, onsite role in Laguna, Philippines. You will lead tax compliance, manage VAT refunds and audits, and provide strategic tax advisory support to business stakeholders within a global wholesale trading and services organisation.

The ideal candidate holds a CPA with at least 3 years of tax experience, demonstrates leadership, and can engage confidently with authorities and external consultants.

Qualifications

• CPA with strong technical taxation experience (3+ years).
• Proven leadership or people management exposure.
• Extensive knowledge of Philippine tax regulations (VAT, withholding tax, corporate income tax).
• Ability to engage confidently with stakeholders, tax authorities and external consultants.

Responsibilities

• Lead tax compliance activities, including review and coordination of all tax filings and statutory requirements.
• Manage VAT refund applications, tax audits, BIR assessments and regulatory engagements.
• Provide tax advisory support to business stakeholders and monitor regulatory updates.

• Guide and develop junior tax and treasury resources while strengthening internal tax controls

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate must have:

Required

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• At least 3 years of strong technical taxation experience
• Leadership or people management exposure, whether formal or informal
• Strong knowledge of Philippine tax regulations, including VAT, withholding taxes, and corporate income tax
• Ability to engage confidently with stakeholders, tax authorities, and external consultants
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines

Preferred

• Certified Tax Technician (CTT)
• Experience within a multinational or regional organisation
