We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax & Regulatory Compliance Specialist to manage the company’s tax compliance, regulatory reporting, and audit requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate submission of BIR, PEZA, and local government requirements, while maintaining complete documentation and supporting the company’s tax and regulatory risk management initiatives.
Prepare and file BIR corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, and other required tax returns accurately and within prescribed deadlines.
Handle BIR Letter of Authority (LOA) audits, including preparation of schedules, reconciliations, supporting documents, and responses to audit findings and inquiries.
Prepare and submit PEZA monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, including other regulatory submissions and reconciliation of reported information.
Review, prepare, and file municipal and local government tax submissions and ensure compliance with applicable local regulations.
Handle and coordinate municipal tax audits, including preparation of supporting documents, reconciliations, and responses to inquiries.
Maintain organized and complete financial records, receipts, tax documents, schedules, and supporting workpapers to ensure the company remains audit-ready.
Monitor and stay updated on new tax laws, BIR issuances, rulings, PEZA regulations, and local government policies, and evaluate their potential impact on the business.
Coordinate with internal departments, external auditors, BIR/PEZA representatives, and other government authorities to address notices, inquiries, compliance matters, and audit requirements.
Review contracts, agreements, and business transactions to ensure appropriate tax treatment, compliance, and mitigation of potential tax risks.
Perform tax reconciliations and investigate discrepancies between accounting records, tax returns, regulatory reports, and supporting documentation.
Assist management in identifying opportunities to improve tax compliance processes, documentation, and internal controls.
Perform other tax and regulatory compliance duties as may be assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Preferably a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or with relevant tax and accounting certifications.
At least 1 year of experience in tax compliance, preferably with exposure to BIR, PEZA, and local government taxation.
Strong knowledge of Philippine tax regulations, including corporate income tax, VAT, withholding taxes, and local business taxes.
Experience handling BIR and/or local government audits, particularly BIR LOA examinations, is highly preferred.
Experience with PEZA reporting and compliance is an advantage.
Strong analytical, reconciliation, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple regulatory deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting/ERP systems.
Strong communication and coordination skills when dealing with internal stakeholders, auditors, and government agencies.
Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and perform effectively under tight deadlines.
