Job Summary
The Tax Manager is responsible for ensuring the company’s adherence to all applicable tax laws, rules, and regulations. This role involves preparing and reviewing tax returns, coordinating with tax authorities, monitoring changes in tax legislation, and providing guidance on tax compliance to support the company’s operations and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation, filing, and payment of all local and national taxes (e.g., VAT, withholding tax, income tax, documentary stamp tax, and other relevant taxes).
- Monitor changes in tax laws, rulings, and regulations to ensure the company’s compliance with current requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation and records to support all tax filings and audits.
- Coordinate with external auditors, consultants, and BIR during assessments, audits, and inquiries.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies to manage tax planning, reporting, and compliance processes.
- Handle the application of BIR rulings, including preparation of requirements, coordination with concerned parties, and monitoring of approval status
- Review transactions and contracts to identify potential tax implications and recommend compliance measures.
- Reconcile tax accounts and resolve discrepancies in coordination with accounting.
Qualifications
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
- At least 3–5 years of experience in tax compliance, preferably from Big 4 Audit Firms
- Strong knowledge of Philippine taxation (BIR rules, local taxes, tax treaties, etc.)
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with internal teams and government agencies
- Good teamwork, positive attitude, can work under pressure
- Proficiency in MS Office applications; familiarity with tax filing systems (eBIRForms, eFPS, etc.) is an advantage
