The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive on tax regulations, and capable of handling ad-hoc tasks. You will reconcile tax accounts quarterly, prepare monthly tax journal entries, and support data extraction for tax assessments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tax reconciliations, journal entries, and compliance documents; collaborate with business units and external stakeholders.
• Meticulous attention to detail; stay updated on tax regulations; handle ad-hoc tasks.
• Initiate quarterly tax account reconciliations with tax returns.
• Prepare monthly tax payments and income tax accrual journal entries.
• Prepare and maintain tax computations, returns, and attachments for tax authorities.
• Liaise with business units and external consultants for tax compliance and data provision.
• Assist data extraction for tax assessments; vouch and analyze documents before BIR submission.
• Prepare annual CAS registration and submission.
• Maintain filing database of tax returns and attachments in SharePoint.
• Monitor tax regulation changes and document relevant updates for the company.
• Perform other ad-hoc tasks as directed by Senior Tax Associate or Tax Manager.

MediCard is currently looking for assertive, dynamic and energetic individuals to fill up the following vacancy:

• The role is responsible for preparing tax reconciliations, journal entries, and compliance documents, while fostering collaborative relationships with business units and external stakeholders.
• This role requires meticulous attention to detail, a proactive approach to staying updated on tax regulations, and the ability to handle ad-hoc tasks effectively.
• Initiates the reconciliation of tax accounts on a quarterly basis (i.e., reconciliation of tax balances in the accounting books with the relevant tax returns)
• Prepares monthly journal entries related to the payment of taxes and income tax accrual
• Prepare and maintain tax computations, returns and related attachments for submission to the relevant taxation authorities
• Direct liaison with business units and external consultants/auditors for purposes of tax compliance (e.g., tax return preparation, tax assessments) which includes the provision of data required by such business units and external consultants/auditors
• Assists in the data extraction required relation to tax assessments as well as the vouching and analysis of documents prior to submission to the BIR
• Prepares the annual registration and submission of computerized books of accounts (CAS)
• Maintains accurate and updated filing database of tax returns, attachments, and other tax files in SharePoint
• Monitors changes in tax regulations and documents those updates that are relevant to the Company
• Accomplish other ad-hoc activities as instructed by the Senior Tax Associate or Tax Manager
