Responsibilities

  • Control, monitor, and operate the distribution network power system to maintain electrical parameters within thresholds.
  • Formulate next-day load forecasts and coordinate with NGCP for power supply nomination.
  • Analyze system stability and generate technical reports to ensure ERC, DMC, GSL, and APDU standards.
  • Coordinate in real-time with the emergency dispatcher and field crews during disturbances.
  • Facilitate administrative tasks while maintaining ISO IMS, AMS safety guidelines.

As Junior System Operation Engineer, you will control, monitor, and manage the distribution power system within the franchise area to ensure operations are within established standards, and implement proper actions during system disturbances to deliver quality power efficiently and economically, and contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with the North Davao Engineering Operations Department to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be
  • Control, monitor, and operate the distribution network power system to maintain electrical parameters (voltage, current, load, frequency) within allowable thresholds, monitor transformer alarm annunciations, and ensure the efficient restoration of unplanned outages.
  • Formulate next-day load forecasts using sound methods and techniques, evaluate grid supply sufficiency, coordinate daily demand with NGCP, and coordinate with APDU Trading for power supply nomination.
  • Analyze system stability and generate comprehensive technical reports (including substation loading profiles, operational statistics, and reliability indices) to ensure compliance with ERC, DMC, GSL, and AP DU standards.
  • Coordinate in real-time with the emergency dispatcher and call center to disseminate power outage and restoration updates, and collaborate with field crew supervisors during system abnormalities.
  • Facilitate essential administrative and ancillary tasks (such as processing payment requests, purchase orders, liquidations, material requisitions, and promoting workplace 5S) while maintaining compliance with ISO IMS, AMS, and safety guidelines.
To Succeed In This Role, We Need Someone Who
  • Demonstrates advanced capability in Power System Monitoring and Control (Level 4) to efficiently monitor, decide, and control network devices, ensuring normal system operations and coordinating with on-site crews and grid operators.
  • Possesses exceptional skills in Load Transfer and Feeder Scoping (Level 3) to implement efficient load transfer schemes and feeder scoping in accordance with PDC, PGC, and NESC standards.
  • Exhibits proficiency in Simulations, System Studies, and Data Analytics (Level 3) to formulate standard switching schemes, use simulation tools (e.g., Synergi, ETAP, MATLAB), and clean and process data for reliability index reporting.
  • Shows strong dedication to maintaining high safety, environmental, and asset management standards in accordance with ISO IMS, AMS, and company policies.
What You Will Need

Education & Experience:

  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (above-average scholastic records are preferred).

Electrical Safety (Level 4).
