Phil-Data Business Systems, Inc. is seeking a System Administrator to install, administer, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments, deploy VMware vSphere, and manage storage and backups. You will work on security hardening and automation to improve reliability.

You should have strong LAN, TCP/IP, Cisco switching, VPNs, and Active Directory experience, plus excellent documentation and teamwork. The role requires shifting schedules including weekends and holidays.

Formación

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
• Strong Windows Server expertise and AD/DNS/DHCP.
• Experience with VMware vSphere and storage/backups.
• Ability to script with PowerShell and automate tasks.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

About the role

System Administrator role responsible for installing, administering, and troubleshooting Windows Servers and related services. You will deploy and configure VMware vSphere environments, manage storage and backup systems, ensure system security, and automate tasks using scripting. You will collaborate on system design, implementation, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Install, administer, and troubleshoot Windows Servers (2016, 2019, 2022) and related services (AD, DNS, DHCP)
• Deploy, configure, and support VMware vSphere environments (ESXi, vCenter, vMotion, HA, DRS)
• Manage and maintain storage and backup systems (Dell, EMC, SAN, Dell DPS, Rubrik)
• Ensure system security through hardening, scanning, and patching
• Automate tasks using scripting (PowerShell) and troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues
• Collaborate on system design, implementation, and continuous improvement

About you

• Strong background in LAN design and implementation
• Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, Cisco switching/routing (VLAN, Trunk, VRF, VSS, StackWise), VPNs (IPSEC, SSL), and routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, IP Multicasting)
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst and Aruba appliances
• Knowledge of 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi‑Fi standards and wired mediums (CAT6, fiber optics)
• Familiarity with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and High Availability
• Advanced troubleshooting skills and ability to produce detailed technical documentation
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
• Team-oriented, proactive, and self-motivating
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent
• Willing to work on shifting schedule, including weekends and holidays
