Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our operating room team. You will assist with gowning, draping, passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field to support both routine and complex procedures.

The role offers full-time hours (40 per week), a 10-hour day shift with on-call responsibilities, comprehensive benefits, and sign-on options. No experience required; completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program and BLS within 6 months are needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of aseptic surgical techniques used in preparing materials, supplies and equipment.
• Knowledge of operating room equipment and setup for procedures.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a sterile field and passes instruments during procedures.
• Assists in gowning and gloving; prepares and drapes the surgical area.
• Ensures room cleanliness, safety and efficiency of the operating room.
• Transports equipment and supplies as needed.
• Performs duties as Second Assistant when required.
