Job description

Bevi is a leading IoT‑enabled beverage platform eliminating single‑use bottles and cans. We serve customers across the US, Canada, UK, and Ireland, and are growing rapidly while saving billions of bottles from waste.

We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our manufacturing and quality team. The role reports to the Director of Quality Engineering and focuses on measuring, improving, and maintaining the quality of Bevi’s products. The engineer works closely with NPI and sustaining engineering teams to identify and prioritize supplier quality improvement targets.

Responsibilities
  • Lead supplier qualification and onboarding, conducting process audits, capability assessments, and ensuring quality and reliability requirements are embedded in supplier control plans before production approval.
  • Triage field issues to root cause at suppliers, driving 8‑D corrective actions and verifying that fixes meet top‑level quality metrics.
  • Apply the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) framework, owning the PPAP submission and approval process (PFMEA, control plan, process flow, MSA, dimensional/capability studies) for assigned parts.
  • Standardize the PPAP process across the supply base, defining submission requirements, CTQs, and approval gates; lead implementation of FAI, MSA/GR&R, and Ok2Ship readiness at suppliers.
  • Drive supplier DPM/PPM performance through tight incoming and in‑process controls, preventive measures, and timely corrective actions; monitor and report supplier metrics and lead quarterly business reviews to close gaps.
  • Lead quality actions with the Supply Chain team to establish a qualification process for new suppliers.
  • Act as the technical liaison between Engineering, Manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure requirements are understood and complied with.
  • Facilitate and lead cross‑functional teams for full root‑cause analysis for failures at suppliers or originating at customers.
  • Generate, publish, and present quality KPIs and other metrics to leadership.
  • Maintain suppliers’ quality data collection activities and run periodic reports to summarize data and recommend continual improvement activities.
Requirements
  • Passionate about delivering best‑in‑class quality to customers and stakeholders.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience with at least 1–2 years of Supplier Quality Engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead with tenacity and grace while acting as a culture carrier during growth and challenge.
  • Strong communicator able to facilitate discussion and present data to all levels of internal and external organizations.
  • Experience partnering with suppliers and contract manufacturers to resolve quality and product issues.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills for interpreting specifications and drawings, performing problem solving and data analysis leading to improvement initiatives.
  • Very strong background in APQP, statistical tools, PFMEAs, quality control plans, PPAP, and root‑cause tools such as 8‑D.
  • Experience leading process improvement teams and managing major projects.
  • Experience using SPC tools and deep understanding of applying them to measure process reliability and repeatability in the supply chain.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Experience with the commercial appliance industry and knowledge of NSF and UL standards is a plus.
  • ASQ certifications such as CQE or CQA are a plus.
  • Ability to be in the office 4–5 days per week.
  • Must be able to travel up to 30% (domestic and international).
