Job summary

AboitizPower is seeking a Substation Specialist in Tagum City, Philippines. You will develop maintenance plans for electrical substations to ensure reliability and compliance with industry standards, and support the North Davao Engineering Operations Department.

You will log inspections, analyze data to generate health indices and forecasts, and generate maintenance work orders while coordinating with suppliers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Electrical Engineer with BS in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with substation equipment handling and maintenance is preferred.
• Strong focus on safety and asset management standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and schedule maintenance plans for electrical substation assets to ensure reliability.
• Log, update, and manage daily inspection, testing, and maintenance records in the AMS/Work database.
• Analyze aggregated technical data to generate equipment health indices and forecasts for budgeting.
• Generate routine and corrective maintenance work orders; conduct risk assessments and assist in CAPEX/OPEX reporting.
• Support contractor billing, materials requisitions, switching/normalization activities; ensure ISO IMS and safety compliance.

As Substation Specialist, you will develop a maintenance plan for electrical substations to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards, and contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with the North Davao Engineering Operations Department to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Develop and schedule comprehensive maintenance plans for electrical substation assets to ensure resource availability and optimal performance.
• Log, update, and manage daily inspection, testing, and maintenance records in the Work and Asset Management database.
• Analyze aggregated technical data to generate equipment condition insights, health indices, and forecasts that support budgeting and decision-making.
• Generate routine and corrective maintenance work orders, conduct operational risk assessments, and handle department CAPEX and OPEX reporting.
• Facilitate key administrative tasks such as contractor billing, materials requisitions, switching or normalization activities, and ensure compliance with ISO IMS, AMS, and safety guidelines.

To Succeed in this Role, we need someone who:

• Demonstrates advanced capability in Substation Equipment Handling, Maintenance, and Component Operations (Level 4).
• Possesses exceptional skills in Substation and Electrical Equipment Technical Analysis and Evaluation (Level 4).
• Exhibits proficiency in handling and operating specialized substation tools and equipment (Level 3).
• Shows strong dedication to maintaining high safety, environmental, and asset management standards in the field.

What You Will Need:

Education & Experience:

• Must be a Registered Electrical Engineer (Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering).
• Entry-level position (No prior professional work experience required).

Technical / Functional Skills:

• Basic Awareness on Safety and Health (Level 2).
• Basic Awareness on Environmental Management (Level 2).
• Hazardous Chemical/ Materials Handling (Level 2).
• Electrical Safety (Level 2).
• Basic Awareness on Asset Management System (AMS) (Level 1).
