Job description

The Strategy & Planning Manager owns the analytical and intelligence work that informs Maya's leadership decisions, from recurring competitive and market intelligence outputs to corporate strategy formation. The role is primarily analytical, but the person is also expected to lead or support strategic programs when needed, bringing the same rigor to execution as they do to insight.

What you will do:
  • Own and produce recurring intelligence outputs, targeted at ManCom and executive leadership
  • Monitor the competitive landscape continuously, tracking competitor moves, product launches, campaigns, financial results, and regulatory developments
  • Analyze peer and competitor financial statements to assess balance sheet strength, loan quality, profitability, and digital momentum
  • Synthesize findings into clear, insight-driven narratives, not data dumps
  • Lead strategy workshops, contributing analysis and synthesis to help leadership define strategic priorities
  • Develop Strategy Thought Starters: key themes, risks, and opportunities to guide annual and medium to long-term strategy discussions
  • Support Big Bets strategy development for high-impact initiatives as needed
  • Drive end-to-end planning cycles, anchored on forecasts to ensure alignment of plans while surfacing key risks and trade-offs for decision‑making
  • Provide oversight in ensuring strategic priorities are translated into roadmaps across Business, Operations, Product, and Technology teams through effective cross‑functional team prioritization and coordination
  • Lead or support strategic programs end‑to‑end - owning governance, workstreams, and delivery
  • Engage with business units on strategic questions, bringing an analytical lens to BU‑level strategy and execution problems
What we are looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field; MBA or graduate degree is a plus
  • Around 4–6 years of relevant experience with a clear track record in strategy, research, or financial analysis
  • Background in management consulting, corporate strategy, equity research, or a strategy function within a tech or fintech company strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to independently produce high‑quality analytical outputs
  • Excellent written communication - write a sharp, executive‑ready memo or insight summary without heavy editing
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders and presenting findings to leadership
  • Naturally curious, self‑directed, and able to manage a recurring deliverable cadence without being micromanaged
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced, matrixed organization and managing cross‑functional stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of program management methodologies and tools is a plus; ideally has a track record of delivering programs end‑to‑end, and can point to specific initiatives they owned, ran, and closed
