Job summary

San Miguel Corporation is seeking a Procurement Engineer in Cavite to coordinate PRs, canvass prices, and manage supplier relationships. You will participate in bidding, review bids, and negotiate to achieve win‑win outcomes, ensuring deliveries meet contract specifications. Ariba On Demand approvals are part of the process.

The role requires engineering graduates and strong communication across levels of the organization, with opportunities to develop procurement procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in relevant role is an advantage but not required.
• Must be able to communicate in all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Process PRs by coordinating with requisitioning unit regarding requested items/services and defines and quantifies requirements for goods and services.
• Canvasses prices of materials, stocks, service, substitutes, etc.
• Attends/conducts bidding (pre bid, bid submission) meetings
• Accepts and reviews bids
• Conducts actual negotiations with supplier to obtain a win-win agreement and arrive at a successful consummation of the negotiation process
• Prepares and/or reviews PRS. Submits PRS for approval by superior.
• Endorses selected supplier based on prescribed guidelines and policies for approval by superior (approval thru Ariba On Demand)
• Monitors, checks and coordinates with supplier for deliveries, quantities and required specifications and services to ensure conformity with established standards, requirements and provisions of contracts/agreements
• Identifies and develops suppliers.
• Recommends improvements in the procedures to facilitate delivery of requirements. Seeks approval of recommended improvement from superior or appropriate authority.
