Job summary

SMBC Group is seeking a Planning Officer to support strategic planning, budgeting, and performance reporting across units. You will partner with Finance, HR, Administration, Risk Management, and Head Office to deliver management insights and drive resource optimization.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field and 3–5 years in management accounting or financial planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• 3–5 years in management accounting, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, management reporting.
• Strong understanding of budgeting methodologies, financial analysis, and performance management.
• Experience preparing executive-level reports, presentations, budget reviews, and MIS materials.

Responsibilities

• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and mid-term planning processes for the Branch.
• Prepare and monitor departmental budgets, expense reports, budget variance analyses, and management reports.
• Analyze business performance, profitability, productivity, and key financial metrics to support decision-making.
• Prepare presentations and management reports for Branch Management, Regional Office, and Head Office.
• Coordinate strategic projects, regulatory initiatives, and business improvement programs across departments.
• Drive process improvement, digitalization, automation, and data analytics initiatives to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
