Job summary

Fireworks is seeking an early-to-mid career finance professional to own the financial analysis behind GPU infrastructure and R&D. You’ll build and maintain models, partner with Engineering, Product, Security and IT, and help shape headcount planning, tooling and vendor spend for the operating budget.

You’ll collaborate across infra, engineering planning and leadership to forecast monthly spend, surface optimization opportunities, and establish reporting and dashboards that make compute economics

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or equivalent.
• Experience in a corporate or startup finance role at a technology company.
• Expert financial modeling skills—build from scratch and stress-test assumptions.
• Genuine interest in operations and the physical/technical system behind the numbers.
• Comfort with messy and imperfect data.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong ownership and bias toward action in a dynamic environment.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the compute model: build and maintain the financial model for GPU fleet, capacity commitments, utilization, and unit economics.
• Support R&D finance: partner with Engineering, Product, Security, and IT; headcount, tooling, vendor spend, operating budget.
• Support capacity planning: act as truth source for capacity held, committed, and used; align with infra.
• Analyze capacity commitments: evaluate contract terms with cloud and GPU providers; surface optimization opportunities.
• Negotiate and manage vendors: supplier negotiations and renewals to secure better terms.
• Get operational: observe utilization, scheduling, and roadmaps; feed insights into the financial model.
• Forecast and explain: monthly forecast of compute, cloud, and R&D spend; explain drivers clearly.
• Split research from production: forecast research vs production compute; build ROI framework.
• Build the function: establish reporting, dashboards, and processes for leadership finance visibility.
• Support the company narrative: contribute compute and R&D inputs to board materials and fundraising.
