Job summary

Maya in the Philippines seeks a finance professional who goes beyond reporting numbers to shape how we spend, invest, and scale in banking and payments.

You will partner with leaders to drive cost decisions, lead budgeting and forecasting, provide actionable insights, and ensure accurate close and reporting across the finance function.

Strong Excel skills, CPA/CMA is a plus, and excellent stakeholder communication are required to succeed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Seasoned experience in FP&A, cost management, controllership, or banking finance.
• Experience in banking, payments, fintech, or financial services is a strong advantage.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, and expense management skills.
• Advanced Excel and financial reporting tools experience.
• Professional certification (CPA, CMA, or equivalent) is a plus.
• Ability to translate financial data into clear business insights.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• High attention to detail with accountability.

Responsibilities

• Drive cost management efforts to meet expense targets.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and expense planning.
• Analyse spending and provide clear, actionable insights.
• Partner with teams to identify and optimise cost drivers.
• Monitor budgets and deliver variance analysis.
• Evaluate costs for projects, vendors, and payment operations.
• Run regular expense reviews with stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with financial controls and policies.
• Support financial close and reporting accuracy.
• Build simple dashboards and reports on cost performance.
• Identify process improvements and automation opportunities.
