Job summary

Summit Media (Summit Publishing Co., Inc.) is seeking a Staff Writer for Smartparenting.com.ph. The writer will produce content in multiple multimedia formats for the website and social media, while monitoring official releases and reliable sources.

The role includes admin tasks, event coverage, and coordinating with contributors, with one weekend duty shift (preferably Sunday) from 10 am to 7 pm. The post is not brand-centric and may involve other Summit brands.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or vocational diploma in journalism, media, communications, or related fields.
• Experience in breaking news is preferred.
• Willingness to work the weekend shift and adapt to assigned brands.

Responsibilities

• Produce content in various formats for the website and social media properties.
• Monitor reliable information sources including official releases and event coverage.
• Handle social media pages and perform admin tasks as needed.
• Attend events and coordinate with contributors for coverage.

Job Summary - Staff Writer

The writer is expected to produce content in different multimedia formats such as (but not limited to) short and long-form articles, art card text, photo and video captions for the website and social media properties. He/ she/ They will also monitor reliable sources of information (official company releases, details from event coverage, legitimate social media channels).

The writer may also be asked to do admin-related work such as handling social media pages, attending event coverages , and coordinating with contributors. This position entails one weekend duty shift, preferably a Sunday. ( Ideal shift is 10 am to 7 pm). This post is not brand-centric, and he/she/they may be assigned to work for other brands under Summit Media.

• Writes a clear, effective copy that fits the voice of the brand
• Speed is of essence: expected to break news for the appropriate brand
• Articles may be in the form of the following: straight news, features, personality features, OP-EDs, listicles, affiliate, and SEO
• Interviewing skills - whether online or onsite
