Job summary

Shinagawa Lasik & Aesthetics Center Corporation in the Philippines seeks a licensed nurse with OR experience to join the LASIK team. The role requires data collection, patient care documentation, and coordination of pre/postoperative procedures in a busy ophthalmic setting.

Fresh graduates are welcome to apply; the position will be assigned to the BGC Branch. The nurse will support LASIK and cataract procedures, ensure patient privacy, and respond to urgent cases as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and valid nursing license.
• Licensed nurse with clinical experience; OR nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtains comprehensive patient data through interviews, vital signs, and assessment techniques.
• Maintains complete and accurate patient care documentation.
• Encodes patient information in the Clinical Information & Management System.
• Drafts medical abstracts after physician review and sign-off.
• Attends to patient needs and coordinates with the care team to exceed expectations.
• Collects patient feedback and reports issues to superiors.
• Develops and evaluates care plans for procedures and emergencies.
• Responds to emergencies and coordinates monthly operation schedules.
• Provides preoperative and postoperative orientation and assists in recovery and operating rooms.
• Assists in dilating patients' eyes during emergencies and supports LASIK/cataract procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
• Must be a licensed Nurse with years of experience.
• Experience as an OR Nurse is an advantage.

Job Responsibilities (LASIK):

• Obtains comprehensive relevant patient data through: (a) interview; (b) correct obtainment of vital signs, which include pain; (c) The use of advanced assessment techniques that is focused or systems approach; (d) correct interpretation of data obtained from monitoring equipment; and (e) correct interpretation of diagnostic results.
• Maintains complete, accurate, concise, and updated documentation of patient care. Observes procedures and policies pertaining to any aspect of clinical charting and reporting.
• Encodes patient’s information in the Clinical Information & Management System
• Draft the medical abstract of the patient upon his/her request and ensure that it is checked and signed by the attending physician before issuance to the requesting patient
• Be attentive to patient’s needs; initiates steps that will comply with their requirements to meet and exceed their expectations.
• Collect patient feedback and keep superiors informed regarding problems or issues in the patient care within the nursing unit.
• Develops, executes and evaluates established plan of care for specific procedures/patient such as but not limited to: care of the emergency and trauma patient. Delivers nursing care consistent with the Patient’s Bill of Rights (i.e. Right to privacy, right to confidentiality, right to refuse treatment)
• Responds to and provide appropriate nursing action for emergent situations
• Coordinate monthly patients’ schedule of operations.
• Provide preoperative and postoperative orientation to patients regarding the do's and don’ts. Assist with patient care in the recovery room, procedure room and operating room.
• Give assistance in dilating the patient's eyes during emergencies such as lack of manpower due to unscheduled absences of other ORTs/nurses
• Perform basic knowledge in usage and minor trouble shooting with the machines on LASIK and Cataract surgeries.
