V2 Solutions is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our core platform engineering team. In this senior IC role, you will shape platform architecture, simplify integration landscapes, and lead modernization across a broad microservice ecosystem.

You will partner with engineering leads, product managers, and architects to define technical visions across multiple systems and drive multi-quarter initiatives.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with backend focus.
• Expert-level proficiency in Java (Java 11+) including concurrency and modern frameworks.
• Experience designing and operating microservices in production with REST/gRPC.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts and patterns.
• Hands-on AWS experience with EC2, EKS/ECS, RDS and related services.
• Proficiency with Redis caching patterns and cluster management.
• Experience with containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Excellent communication and ability to mentor other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement scalable microservices in production.
• Lead technical design of distributed systems and API contracts.
• Define caching strategies to optimize latency and throughput.
• Drive database design and optimization across SQL and NoSQL stores.
• Champion best practices: code reviews, tests, CI/CD, observability.
• Evaluate AWS-native services for scalable, cost-effective solutions.
• Mentor engineers and guide career development across teams.
• Collaborate with product stakeholders to translate requirements into plans.
• Contribute to long-term platform roadmaps and capacity planning.
• Identify and resolve systemic reliability and security issues.
