Job summary

Qualifyze is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to shape and scale our data platform within the Product & Tech team. You will work with product and backend engineers to deliver robust data architectures and end-to-end data pipelines that drive product decisions.

The role emphasizes Python, SQL, data modeling, and orchestration tooling, with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and collaboration with business stakeholders. Hybrid work arrangement offered across Europe and beyond.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python for data engineering with robust ETL/ELT pipelines and testing.
• Advanced SQL skills with PostgreSQL, performance tuning, indexing strategies, and OLTP/OLAP understanding.
• Strong experience with dbt for data modeling, testing, and documenting analytical datasets.
• Hands-on with Dagster or similar orchestration tools; designing assets, scheduling, monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical vision for the data platform and architecture.
• Design scalable, reliable data solutions supporting business growth.
• Establish best practices around data architecture, modeling, quality, and engineering standards.
• Lead complex technical initiatives and make architectural decisions across teams.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders to translate needs into scalable data solutions.
• Mentor Data Engineers and promote knowledge sharing.
• Drive improvements to increase scalability, reliability, and efficiency of the data platform.
