Job summary

iScale Solutions is seeking an experienced SRE to strengthen reliability across cloud and on‑prem environments. You will drive SLOs/SLIs, engineer for high availability, and lead incident reviews while automating detection and response through modern observability tooling.

Ideal candidates bring 3–5 years of SRE experience, strong Linux, AWS, and Kubernetes skills, plus hands‑on with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, and IaC with Terraform/Pulumi.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of SRE experience in cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Deep understanding of Linux systems, networking, and systems administration.
• Experience with AWS and Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Hands-on with observability tools (Honeycomb, Grafana, Prometheus, Thanos, ELK/Loki).
• Proficient in Python or Go and shell scripting (bash).
• Experience with OpenTelemetry and distributed tracing, metrics, logs integration.
• Chaos Engineering experience and tools (Chaos Mesh, chaos monkey, AWS Fault).
• Participate in on‑call rotation and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets for reliability.
• Develop resilient systems with 99.9%+ uptime for critical services.
• Lead incident response and post-incident reviews with root cause analysis.
• Automate incident detection and response with runbooks/workflows.
• Write software to support reliability and efficiency needs.
• Design full observability using OpenTelemetry for tracing, metrics, and logs.
• Plan capacity and performance testing to scale with load.
• Collaborate with development/ops to build reliable services.
• Champion IaC for provisioning and scaling using Terraform, Pulumi, etc.
• Engage in chaos engineering initiatives and on‑call rotation.
