Job summary

Manulife John Hancock in the Philippines seeks a Sr. Technical Lead to bridge our Toronto-based Global Data & Insights team with Manulife Global Solutions in the Philippines.

You will lead reporting and data initiatives for senior leadership and collaborate with our Reporting Center of Excellence to promote self-serve analytics. You will drive automation and data-driven programs using Power BI and Microsoft Power Platform, guide cross-functional teams, and ensure scalable data architectures

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive experience providing operations support in an analyst capacity.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Azure Databricks, PowerBI, data modelling and working with relational databases in enterprise cloud environments.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and deliver actionable insights.
• Note: all candidates will undergo testing of communication, critical thinking, and technical skills.

Job description

The Sr. Technical Lead will act as a bridge between our Global Data & Insights team mostly based in Toronto and Manulife Global Solutions (MGS) in the Philippines. The role will lead reporting and data initiatives for various stakeholders including Senior Leadership and collaborating with our partners in MGS including the Reporting Center of Excellence. You will collaborate with multi-functional teams to promote self-serve reporting and drive operational improvements using data. Additionally, you will implement automation and workflow improvements to advance data-driven programs we deliver as a team.

Position Responsibilities:

• Partner with business stakeholders, senior leaders, and other data professionals to design, develop and maintain business intelligence solutions
• Lead the collection, validation and reporting of KPIs and metrics for various forums including monthly operational reporting for senior leadership.
• Develop and maintain team documentation when solutioning for data and workflow improvement projects.
• Partner with multi-functional teams to promote self-serve reporting and enable citizen developers through consultation and knowledge transfer.
• Implement automation and workflow improvement solutions via Microsoft Power Platform tools to assist in the overall team mandate of operationalizing data decision making tools via Power BI.
• Stay up-to-date with data and business analysis standard methodologies and emerging trends in data-decision-making-tool development/design.

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ years of progressive experience providing operations support in an analyst capacity.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Azure Databricks, PowerBI, data modelling, and working with relational databases in enterprise cloud environments. Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and deliver actionable insights.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in solutioning workflow enhancement and automation through Microsoft Power Platform tools such as Power Apps & Power Automate.
• Experience working on Agile teams using Scrum and Kanban
• Knowledge of Manulife & John Hancock Retirement products systems and operations.
• Knowledge of the Retirement Operations record keeping systems, workflows and CRM tools.
• Understanding of the financial/retirement regulatory environment.
