Job summary

Reed Elsevier Philippines is seeking a Senior Quality Test Engineer to own test execution end to end—designing and maintaining test scenarios, performing thorough manual testing, and building reliable automated tests. You’ll manage defects through to resolution, provide clear status updates, and partner with delivery, QA, and product teams to ensure customer environments are released with confidence.

Work arrangement is hybrid (1x/month onsite) at UP AyalaLand Technohub, Commonwealth, Quezon

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant testing experience.
• 2+ years automation experience.
• Proven manual test design and execution across UI, Mobile, and API layers.
• Strong defect management from identification to closure.
• Test management discipline with maintaining test scenarios and cycles.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

We need a Senior Quality Test Engineer who can own test execution end to end—designing and maintaining test scenarios, performing thorough manual testing, and building reliable automated tests. You’ll manage defects through to resolution, provide clear status and risk updates, and partner closely with delivery, QA, and product teams to ensure customer environments and platform features are released with confidence.

• Take ownership of the delivery team’s test strategy and drive effective execution.
• Contribute to the timely and high-quality delivery of customer environments through effective test planning and execution.
• Define and adapt test coverage to align with customer requirements and delivery priorities.
• Maintain test scenarios and test execution records in the test management tool to support traceability, effective execution and accurate reporting.
• Identify, log, and document defects in bug-tracking tools to drive timely resolution.
• Track and troubleshoot defects with developers and stakeholders through to closure.
• Provide clear testing status updates in stand-ups and planning sessions, highlighting risks and priorities.
• Partner with QA and product teams to automate test coverage for new and existing platform features.

Work Arrangement:

• Set‑Up: Hybrid (1x/month onsite reporting)
• Schedule: 7:00AM - 3:00PM
• Location: UP AyalaLand Technohub, Commonwealth, Quezon City

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Must have at least 5 years of relevant experience; with 2 years automation experience
• Proven manual test design and execution (test scenarios/cases, exploratory and regression testing) aligned to customer requirements in UI, Mobile and API layers.
• Strong defect management: identify, reproduce, document, and track issues in a bug-tracking tool through to closure.
• Test management discipline: create and maintain test scenarios and test cycles in a test management tool.
• Strong analytical skills and a high attention to detail, with the ability to document and design effective test scenarios.

Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience automating complex UI and API workflows, including authentication, session management, and end-to-end validation.
• Experience using Jira and Zephyr to manage testing requirements, execution, and defects.
