Optum, a UnitedHealth Group company, is seeking a senior infrastructure engineer in Metro Manila to oversee server hardware provisioning, OS deployment, and virtualization with VMware ESX/vCenter. The role involves data center migrations, automation with PowerShell, Terraform, and Chef, and leading project deployments.
You will manage Windows Server environments (2008–2019), perform firmware updates, and support Cisco UCS and HP server platforms.
Oversee procurement, installation, and configuration of new server hardware.
Deploy and configure operating systems for newly provisioned hardware.
Provision and maintain physical and virtual infrastructure environments.
Provide Level 3 support for VMware ESX and Windows Server environments.
Monitor infrastructure health and ensure platform stability, availability, and performance.
Act as technical lead for server deployment, consolidation, migration, and upgrade projects.
Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives across Windows Server and VMware environments.
Support data center migration activities, including P2V, V2V, and infrastructure relocation projects.
Ensure successful implementation of new infrastructure solutions while minimizing business disruption.
Build, configure, and administer VMware vSphere environments.
Manage vCenter configurations, host profiles, and Auto Deploy implementations.
Support vRealize Automation environments.
Perform virtualization health checks and optimization activities.
Manage Windows Server environments including Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2019.
Perform firmware, BIOS, and server hardware updates.
Configure and support Cisco UCS infrastructure.
Administer HP server platforms including DL and BL series systems.
Manage boot‑from‑SAN builds and HBA configurations.
Configure and maintain local and SAN storage environments.
Manage RAID, mirroring, and storage provisioning activities.
Support enterprise backup and recovery solutions, including Tivoli, Avamar, and Veeam.
Ensure data protection, backup validation, and recovery readiness.
Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation and operational efficiency.
Support infrastructure automation initiatives using tools such as Terraform and Chef.
Identify opportunities to improve service delivery through automation and process enhancements.
Troubleshoot server, storage, virtualization, and operating system issues.
Support Active Directory and clustering environments.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve infrastructure incidents.
Participate in on‑call support and critical incident resolution activities as required.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
At least 3 years of hands‑on experience in Windows Server and infrastructure administration.
Experience administering enterprise VMware vSphere environments.
Experience with Cisco UCS infrastructure.

SQL Always On Clustering
Strong PowerShell scripting skills.
Basic network troubleshooting experience.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong collaboration and problem‑solving abilities.
Experience with IIS, .NET, and SQL Server.
Experience with HP OneView and HP Systems Insight Manager.
Knowledge of OpenView and iLO configuration.
Experience with Fabric Interconnect setup and administration.
Working knowledge of Linux.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Kanban, or Rally.
Experience with SharePoint, Snagit, and Enterprise Service Catalog.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Willingness to participate in a 24/7 Level 3 on‑call support rotation.
