Job summary

Tech One Global Philippines is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to architect, develop, and optimize data pipelines and infrastructure using Microsoft Azure. You will lead end-to-end design and delivery of scalable, secure data solutions for external clients, guiding architecture and mentoring junior engineers.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable analytics, reporting, and machine learning, enforce data governance and CI/CD practices, and stay ahead with emerging technologies

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering and leading complex projects.
• Proven skills in SQL, Python, and data pipeline development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and architecture of scalable, secure data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and Microsoft Fabric.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT frameworks for diverse data sources.
• Monitor data quality, reliability, and performance across environments with monitoring and alerting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into data solutions for analytics and ML.
• Drive CI/CD adoption and infrastructure-as-code practices in data engineering workflows.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews to foster continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards and contribute to policy development.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to enhance the data platform’s scalability and maintainability.

Role Overview:

TheSenior Data Engineeris responsible for architecting, developing, and optimizing complex data pipelines and infrastructure using Microsoft Azure technologies to support the evolving data needs of external clients. This role involves leading the end-to-end design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions — from ingestion and transformation to delivery and governance. The Senior Data Engineer plays a key role in shaping data architecture, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enable advanced analytics, reporting, and machine learning. This position combines hands-on engineering with strategic input to ensure data systems are robust, efficient, and future-ready.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and architecture of scalable, secure, and high-performance data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and Microsoft Fabric
• Develop and maintain advanced ETL/ELT frameworks to support complex data integration from diverse structured and unstructured sources
• Oversee data quality, reliability, and performance across environments, implementing monitoring and alerting strategies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust data solutions that support analytics, reporting, and machine learning
• Drive the adoption of data engineering best practices, including CI/CD, version control, and infrastructure-as-code
• Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), and contribute to internal policy development
• Mentor and guide junior data engineers, conducting code reviews and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
• Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to enhance the data platform’s scalability, maintainability, and performance

What You Will Bring:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of leading complex data projects and mentoring teams
• Technical Skills:
• Proven expertise in SQL and Python for building and automating data pipelines, transformations, and validations
• Deep experience with data warehousing and data lake architectures, including performance tuning and optimization
• Advanced hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data services, including Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Microsoft Fabric
• Strong background in data modeling, database design, and query optimization for large-scale datasets
• Practical experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in data engineering workflows
• Proficient in using version control systems like Git and managing collaborative development environments
• Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks, with experience implementing controls in production environments
