Sun Life Philippines is seeking a Sr Analyst – Finance (Treasury) to manage corporate cash, receivables and short-term investments within a Shared Services environment. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in finance and treasury functions.
• At least 1 year of experience in ITO, BPO, or Shared Services.
• Strong familiarity with GAAP and IFRS.
• Exceptional cash management capabilities and forecasting skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day cash flow operations and ensure funds are available for ongoing needs.
• Prepare and submit accurate daily cash position reports to the Accounting Manager.
• Manage fund requirements, loan availments, repayments, and bank balances through cash forecasting.
• Reconcile GL entries against bank deposits and transactions to identify variances.
• Invest excess funds in short-term instruments in line with policy and optimize treasury workflows.

Job Description

The Sr Analyst – Finance (Treasury) is responsible for managing corporate financial assets, including cash, receivables, and short-term investments. This role ensures optimal funding for daily operations while prudently investing excess cash in strict adherence to corporate policies. The ideal candidate will provide data-driven recommendations to maximize earnings, minimize financial risk, and drive process efficiencies within a Shared Services environment

Major Accountabilities

Cash & Liquidity Management

• Daily Cash Flow: Oversee day-to-day cash flow operations and ensure sufficient funds are available for ongoing operational and capital investment requirements.
• Cash Positioning: Prepare and submit accurate daily cash position reports to the Accounting Manager.
• Forecasting & Funding: Manage fund requirements, loan availments, repayments, and bank balances through robust cash forecasting.
• Banking Operations: Facilitate all core cash transactions, including fund transfers, wire transfers, payroll funding, and stop payments.

Transaction Control & Compliance

• Reconciliation: Reconcile General Ledger (GL) entries against bank deposits and transactions to identify, investigate, and resolve variances.
• Disbursements: Facilitate timely check processing and ensure accounts payable are settled efficiently.
• Investment Execution: Invest excess funds in short-term instruments in alignment with established company investment policies.
• Process Optimization: Review, develop, and implement new procedures to enhance treasury workflows and systems.

Reporting & Relationship Management

• Banking Relations: Maintain and foster strong corporate banking relationships.
• Investment Analysis: Provide comprehensive analytical reviews, benchmark studies of banking/investment services, and intercompany liquidity reports.
• Support: Assist the Accounting Manager with ad-hoc financial projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance and treasury functions.
• Industry Background: At least 1 year of experience within an Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO), Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), or Shared Services organization.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Skills: Exceptional cash management capabilities, strong business acumen, and advanced cash forecasting skills.

Communication & Collaboration Scope

• Interacts and collaborates closely with internal functional groups within SLGS, Corporate Treasury, leadership teams, managers, and employees.
• Manages regular communication with external stakeholders, including banking partners and external financial communities.
