Position Title : SQL Database Adminitrator

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, migrate, upgrade and maintain multiple databases for non-production and production environment


• Enforce database change management, security standards and best practices.


• Design and maintain backup and data archiving plan.


• Proposed Disaster Recovery strategy and perform DR test


• Responsible for overall design of database landscape


• Support high throughput production environment by proactively monitor the performance, Integrity, and security of business applications databases and database servers.


• Support application development in the area of database tuning, design and prepare database environment for the project team


• Participate in any new / major enhancement to ensure the database design are align with the best practices


• Perform production deployment when is required.


• Need to work closely with the DEV team and create Data modeling by using any market standard tools like ERwin, ER-Studio, and Toad Data Modeler etc.


• Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when is required


• Creating and maintaining DB documentation which includes documenting data standards, policies and procedures


• Provide out of hours support as required through 24 x 7 rotation.


• Out of hours overtime may be required for planned work that cannot be carried out during normal business hours.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science


• More than 5 years of working experience as SQL DBA


• Experience in MSSQL database administration (SQL 2016 & above) in production environment


• Experience in SQL High Availability and WSFC (Windows Cluster)


• Experience with SQL SSRS and build SSIS package


• Hands-on experience in SQL capacity planning and performance tuning


• Experience in developing the power shell script


• Experience in cloud technology (SQL Azure and CosmosDB)


• Knowledge of SQL server backup and restore strategies


• Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual thinking


• Able to co-ordinate infrastructure/Network requirement with regional office


• Experience with T-SQL development


• Candidate with development background will be added advantage.


• Experience with DB2, MongoDB, Postgres and Oracle will be added advantage
