Baker McKenzie seeks a Specialist, People Analytics to build and evolve global reporting and analytics, partnering with People and functional leaders to enable data-driven decisions across the employee lifecycle.
The role supports transformation by embedding AI-enabled ways of working, governance, and automation while translating people data into actionable insights for operations and strategic workforce decisions.
The Specialist, People Analytics will provide functional expertise in building and evolving the global People Reporting and Analytics capability, partnering with People and Functional leaders to enable data-driven decision-making across the employee lifecycle. The role-holder will support ongoing transformation and capability redesign by embedding AI-enabled ways of working, strengthening reporting and analytics governance, improving process efficiency and automation, and translating people data into actionable insight for tactical operations and strategic workforce decisions.
Main responsibilities:
Provide functional expertise in people research, quantitative and qualitative analysis, interpretation, and data storytelling to inform, influence, and support talent and business decisions across the employee lifecycle
Partner with Talent Management, Recruitment and Mobility, Careers and Performance, Leadership and Learning, Diversity and Inclusion, and other stakeholders to understand business needs, clarify problem statements, and translate them into scalable reporting, analytics, and insight solutions
Lead and deliver people analytics projects from discovery to implementation, using appropriate research methods, structured data gathering, analytical techniques, and action-oriented recommendations
Generate clear, actionable insights and communicate implications effectively to technical and non-technical audiences, including through executive-ready presentations and dashboards
Design, develop, and enhance standard people metrics, dashboards, and self-service reporting solutions using relevant platforms and tools to improve stakeholder access, adoption, and decision quality
Apply AI-enabled tools and automation opportunities responsibly to streamline analysis, reporting, insight generation, and operational processes, while maintaining appropriate human judgement, governance, and data quality standards
Collaborate closely with People Systems, Data Architects, Engineers, and technology partners to improve data integrity, reporting architecture, access, and scalability of people data solutions
Support the ongoing transformation and capability redesign of the People Reporting and Analytics function by contributing to operating model improvements, process harmonization, governance, and capability-building initiatives
Contribute to the development and maintenance of reporting standards, metric definitions, documentation, and data governance practices to promote consistency, trust, and sustainability
Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the immediate manager from time to time
AI / transformation focus:
Help shape a modern People Analytics capability that uses AI and automation to improve speed, quality, and scale
Identify opportunities to simplify processes, reduce manual effort, and improve how reporting and insights are delivered
Work with People, Systems, and Technology teams to strengthen data quality, reporting standards, and scalable analytics solutions
Support adoption of new tools and ways of working by helping stakeholders build confidence in data, self-service reporting, and AI-enabled solutions
Use AI responsibly, with appropriate attention to confidentiality, data governance, accuracy, and human judgement
Skills and experience:
A bachelor's degree in Psychology, Behavioral Science, Applied Statistics, Social Sciences, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or other relevant disciplines, or equivalent work experience
Good relevant experience in people research, quantitative and qualitative analysis, reporting, dashboard development, and insight generation, ideally within HR, People Analytics, or related analytical roles
Strong understanding of HR practices, employee lifecycle processes, people data structures, and HR systems, with the ability to connect business questions to meaningful analytics solutions
Proficient in or with practical knowledge in reporting, data transformation, and analytics tools, such as Power BI, MS Fabric, Tableau, Tableau Prep Builder, SQL, Python, R, SPSS, JASP, SuccessFactors, Avature, and similar platforms
Working knowledge of AI-enabled productivity, analytics, or automation tools (such as Copilot Studio and PowerApps) and the ability to apply them responsibly to improve efficiency, scale insight delivery, and support better user experience
Experience in process analysis, process redesign, standardization, or operational improvement, with the ability to support transformation and capability-building initiatives in a global or shared services environment
Experience developing standard metrics, dashboards, governance artefacts, and reporting frameworks that improve consistency, scalability, and stakeholder self-service
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and translate complex information into practical recommendations
Excellent executive communication and presentation skills, including the ability to distil complex data into clear narratives, insights, and actions for different stakeholder groups
Good understanding of data privacy, data governance, and responsible use principles relevant to people data, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions
Experience working in a multinational, professional services, captive, or shared services environment is preferred
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
Willing to work on a Night shift
