Job summary

UnionBank is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect Cluster Lead to guide a team of Solution Architects across Retail, Corporate, and Business Enabling domains. You will ensure designs are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise standards while collaborating with product owners, enterprise architects, and service providers to shape high-impact solutions.

You will oversee KPI tracking, budgets, and documentation, drive technical excellence from design through implementation, and mentor

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10-15 years of IT experience with at least 5 years in solution architecture and design.
• Strong understanding of architectural patterns (e.g. microservices, event-driven).
• Strong understanding in cloud technologies (AWS, Microsoft Azure, etc.).
• Knowledge of security principles, risk management, and compliance.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and best practice guidance to Solution Architects within the cluster.
• Review and validate solution designs to ensure they are scalable, secure, efficient, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
• Oversee the performance of the architectural cluster by tracking KPIs and ensuring continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with product owners, demand management team and other stakeholders to provide high level assessments for all technology projects.
• Collaborate with product owners to analyze and understand the business requirements/user stories.
• Collaborate with different IT units to create and design solutions and document it into a Technical Implementation Plan.
• Conducts Buy, Build and Borrow assessment as part of creation of the overall solution and providing recommendations on project direction.
• Conducts solutions walkthrough to internal stakeholders and service providers as part of the selection process to determine project cost, timeline & best-fit solution.
• Collaborate with product owners to prepare project budget presentations to Budget Committee.
• Oversee implementation and ensure that the solution design is adhered to during implementation.
• Maintain updated solution architecture documentation.

About The Role

The IT Solutions Architect Cluster Lead (SA CL) is responsible for leading and managing a cluster of Solution Architects, which may be aligned by domain such as Retail, Corporate, or Business Enabling. Provide guidance and best practices on creating solutions based on defined architectural standards and oversee the clusters performance and KPIs. SA CL role involves working closely with the solutions architects, enterprise architects, product owners, application owners, infrastructure architects, information security architects, testing architects, developers, service providers and other governance stakeholders to create a scalable, secure and efficient solution architecture.

What You’ll Do

• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and best practice guidance to Solution Architects within the cluster.
