Job summary

Capgemini Philippines Corp. is seeking an experienced API Architecture Leader to define and own the enterprise API strategy, shape standards, and drive governance across the API lifecycle.

You will collaborate with business, product, and delivery teams to translate capabilities into well-defined API products and service contracts, ensuring scalable and compliant solutions. The role emphasizes leadership in API security, cloud-native patterns, and DevSecOps practices, guiding engineering teams

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in enterprise application, integration, and solution architecture within large-scale organizations.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise API strategies, API-led architectures, and integration platforms.
• Proven experience in the banking, financial services, or fintech sector, with strong understanding of Open Banking ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the enterprise API architecture strategy, establishing reference architectures, integration patterns, standards, and roadmaps.
• Lead API and integration solution design using RESTful APIs, event-driven and microservices architectures, and domain-driven design principles.
• Establish and govern enterprise API standards, including design guidelines, security frameworks, and versioning strategies.
• Partner with business, product, enterprise architecture, and delivery teams to translate capabilities into API products with service contracts and lifecycle management.
• Provide architecture leadership and oversight across the API lifecycle, including architecture reviews and governance.
• Drive API security and risk management practices, aligning with enterprise security controls and regulatory obligations.
• Guide engineering and platform teams on API management platforms, cloud-native architectures, DevSecOps, CI/CD, and deployment patterns.
• Champion API governance, catalog management, and reuse to reduce duplication and technical debt.
• Collaborate with enterprise and domain architects to align with target-state architecture and modernization goals.
• Monitor emerging technologies and banking standards to enhance the API ecosystem.

Your Role

• Define and own the enterprise API architecture strategy, establishing reference architectures, integration patterns, standards, and roadmaps that support the bank's digital transformation, ecosystem integration, and Open Banking initiatives.
• Lead API and integration solution design using RESTful APIs, event-driven and microservices architectures, domain-driven design principles, and industry frameworks (e.g., BIAN), ensuring scalable, reusable, and business-aligned solutions.
• Establish and govern enterprise API standards, including design guidelines, security frameworks, versioning strategies, and non-functional requirements such as performance, resiliency, observability, scalability, and regulatory compliance.
• Partner closely with business, product, enterprise architecture, and delivery teams to translate business capabilities and customer journeys into well-defined API products with clear service contracts, documentation, and lifecycle management.
• Provide architecture leadership and oversight across the API lifecycle, conducting architecture reviews, design assurance, and governance activities to ensure adherence to architectural principles, standards, and best practices.
• Drive API security and risk management practices, ensuring alignment with enterprise security controls, identity and access management frameworks, data protection requirements, and regulatory obligations.
• Guide engineering and platform teams on API management platforms, cloud-native architectures, DevSecOps practices, CI/CD integration, and deployment patterns to achieve consistent, secure, and high-quality delivery outcomes.
• Champion API governance, catalog management, and reuse, enhancing API discoverability, promoting standardized services, and reducing duplication, and minimizing technical debt across the enterprise landscape.
• Collaborate with enterprise and domain architects to ensure API and integration architectures align with the organization's target-state architecture, technology strategy, and modernization objectives.
• Monitor emerging technologies, industry trends, and banking standards, identifying opportunities to enhance the API ecosystem, improve developer experience, and accelerate innovation across the organization.

Your Profile

• 10+ years of experience in enterprise application, integration, and solution architecture within large-scale organizations.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise API strategies, API-led architectures, and integration platforms.
• Proven experience in the banking, financial services, or fintech sector, with strong understanding of digital banking, payments, channels, and Open Banking ecosystems.
• Demonstrated success delivering large-scale digital transformation and modernization initiatives involving APIs, microservices, cloud, and hybrid architectures.
• Experience establishing architecture governance, standards, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps across multiple business domains.
• Strong background in leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders at senior management and executive levels.
