Job summary

Jobtailor in the Philippines seeks a software engineer with 3+ years of hands-on experience to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain web applications across the full SDLC.

You will work with C#, TypeScript, microservices, cloud services, and modern tooling (Docker, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jira) in a collaborative Agile environment, focusing on scalable, reliable software solutions.

Qualifications

• Graduate or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Hands-on experience with C# (.NET Core, .NET Framework), TypeScript, NestJS, and Node.js.
• Experience with microservices and event-driven architecture; Kafka or similar.
• Experience with React.js or Angular.
• Extensive AWS cloud services experience; EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC, etc.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases; MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, or DocumentDB.
• Docker and Kubernetes experience; CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD.
• Observability tools: Splunk, ELK or DataDog; testing: unit/BDD/TDD; Git-based SCM; Jira/Agile.
• Hands-on AI tool usage and agentic coding assistants is a plus.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineering Manager, Architect, Product Manager to translate requirements into system designs.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain web-based applications across the full SDLC.
• Improve application functionality, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Develop domain understanding and recommend functional improvements.
• Identify blind spots and clarify ambiguous ideas and designs.
• Align with team goals, prioritize work, and propose scope adjustments.
• Own modules and develop high-quality features independently.
• Create basic project plans for small projects and development initiatives.
• Follow coding, QA, and configuration management standards.
• Participate in code reviews and improve team processes and codebase.
• Design and develop database solutions; maintain objects and performance.
• Troubleshoot and address performance bottlenecks and operational issues.
• Understand production infrastructure, interfaces, integrations, and product dependencies.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and propose process improvements.
• Build cross-team relationships and communicate requirements to partner groups.
