Job summary

DTN Manila is seeking a Frontend Software Engineer to help build, maintain, and improve a global consumer weather platform used by millions of users. You will work with a cross-functional team to deliver high-performance, accessible web experiences and collaborate across locations and time zones.

Required are strong JavaScript and React skills, Next.js familiarity, and a solid understanding of CSS, REST APIs, and Git workflows.

We are looking for a Frontend Software Engineer to join our B2C engineering team and help build, maintain, and improve a global consumer weather platform used by millions of users. This is an opportunity to work on high-traffic, customer-facing web products where performance, reliability, usability, and scalability are critical.

The successful candidate will work closely with frontend and backend engineers, QA, product, and UX teams to deliver reliable, performant, and user-friendly web experiences.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Develop and maintain modern web applications using JavaScript, React, and Next.js.
• Build responsive and accessible user interfaces using HTML and CSS.
• Contribute to a global weather website serving millions of users.
• Integrate frontend applications with APIs and backend services.
• Investigate and resolve defects, performance issues, and production problems.
• Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-tested code.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
• Work closely with QA to support testing, releases, and production deployments.
• Improve application performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate effectively with engineering and product teams across multiple locations and time zones.

What You Will Bring to the Role

• Strong experience with JavaScript and modern frontend development.
• Good working knowledge of React.
• Familiarity with Next.js, including client-side and server-side rendering concepts.
• Strong understanding of CSS, responsive design, and modern web layouts.
• Experience integrating with REST APIs or similar backend services.
• Experience with Git-based development workflows and pull requests.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of browser behaviour, web performance, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Ability to independently deliver moderately complex features while working effectively within a collaborative engineering team.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with TypeScript.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Experience with high-traffic consumer-facing applications.
• Familiarity with web monitoring, analytics, and performance optimisation.
• Understanding of accessibility and SEO best practices.

Compensation

The targeted hiring base pay range for this position is PHP 78,333 to PHP 104,500 per month in the Philippines and AUD 88,406 to AUD 117,875 annually in Australia. DTN is a pay-for-performance organization, which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation with performance over time. The actual base pay offered for this position will be dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to prior work experience, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, internal equity, and applicable laws. The targeted hiring base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for market-competitive variable pay and benefits.
