Job summary

DTCC is seeking a Systems Engineer in Manila to evolve and verify middleware, mainframe, and distributed platforms. You will install and support FIX and SWIFT components, while maintaining high production stability and participating in on-call rotations.

Role requires strong Linux administration, OpenShift experience, and scripting in Shell/Perl/Python. The position offers a flexible/hybrid model with onsite/remote days and focus on risk reduction and performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of related experience with FIX and SWIFT.
• 3 years' experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container (OCP).
• Good knowledge of FIX protocol and FIX order flow.
• Linux administration and networking with scripting (Shell, Perl, Python).
• Willingness to work 6am–3pm Manila time.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, debug and resolve FIX (Appia, TradeScope, QuickFIX) and SWIFT Alliance on Linux; maintain production stability.
• Provide production support and aide development teams in troubleshooting FIX/SWIFT/Linux issues; perform root cause analysis.
• Offer weekend on-call support rotations and DR testing support.
• Create and maintain detailed system docs and diagrams; provide cross-training to team.
• Analyze system performance and capacity; provide improvement recommendations.
• Develop and debug admin utilities using bash/perl; adhere to incident/change management policies.
• Collaborate with developers to design and implement solutions; use Jira/Bitbucket/Ansible for project management.

The Impact you will have in this role:

The Systems Engineering family is responsible for the entire technical effort to evolve and verify solutions that satisfy client needs. The primary focus is centered on reducing risk and improving the efficiency, performance, stability, security, and quality of all systems and platforms. The Systems Engineering role specializes in the analysis, evaluation, design, testing, implementation, support, and debugging of all middleware, mainframe, and distributed platforms, tools, and systems of the firm.

Primary Responsibilities

• Installation, configuration, maintenance, debugging and resolving FIX (Appia, TradeScope, QuickFIX) and SWIFT Alliance product implementations on Linux. Maintain stability of the production environment.
• Provide production support and assistance to development staff in troubleshooting application issues with respect to the use of FIX, SWIFT and Linux. Perform root cause analysis.
• Provide immediate support for production Appia, QuickFIX and SWIFT Alliance implementations.
• Participate in weekend on-call support rotations.
• Provide support for weekend implementations and Disaster Recovery tests.
• Create and maintain clearly detailed system documentation and diagrams to be used as job aids and knowledge transfer material. Provide cross-training to team members.
• Analyze system performance and capacity statistics. Provide recommendations.
• Maintain, author and debug administrative utilities using shell programs (bash, perl).
• Conformance to DTCC Incident, Change and Problem management policies and procedures.
• Work with development staff and teammates to architect implementation and support solutions.
• Use of Jira, Bit Bucket, Ansible for project and software management.
• Work both independently and in a Team as an energetic team member.
• Lead, provide and implement automated solutions.
• Recommend process and technological changes.
• Aligns risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately.
• Manage patching, upgrades and other various infrastructure operations on FIX and SWIFT servers.
• Effectively complete complex projects and installations within aggressive time frames and budget parameters.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of related experience with FIX and SWIFT.
• Strong knowledge of Broadridge Appia, Open-source QuickFIX and SWIFT Alliance Access products.
• 3 years' experience with Red Hat Open Shift Container(OCP)
• Good knowledge of FIX protocol and FIX order flow.
• Good administrator knowledge of Linux and networking with good command over any scripting language such as Shell, Perl, Python, etc.
• Amenable to working hours of 6am to 3pm Manila time.
