Job summary

Maxima AI is seeking an AI Engineer to join our team and build agentic workflows that power enterprise accounting automation. You will design prompts, evaluations, and model interfaces, and integrate AI components into our product and infrastructure.

You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering to ship end-to-end features and ensure AI-driven systems are reliable and scalable in production.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building product at high-growth companies.
• Familiarity with latest AI developments, practices, and frameworks.
• Familiarity with web development, relational databases, and distributed systems.
• Experience with data pipelines, mission-critical systems (e.g. fintech), or complex workflow engines is a plus.
• Loves in-person culture, we are 5 days a week in office in downtown San Mateo.

Role Overview

As an AI Engineer at Maxima, you’ll work at the intersection of AI systems and product, building agentic workflows that power real-world enterprise accounting automation. This role is not pure research or modeling—you’ll focus on turning modern AI capabilities into reliable, production-ready systems used by customers every day.
