Job Overview

The Software Engineer designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs moderately complex software programs for enhancements and new products. Depending on the team, this role may also involve developing software and tools in support of design, infrastructure, and technology platforms, including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases, and Internet‑related tools. The engineer determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design.

Responsibilities

• Design software programs for enhancements and new products.
• Design embedded systems using microcontrollers, sensors, and analog/digital interface circuits.
• Develop and execute verification test plans.
• Establish and meet schedules for multiple potentially concurrent projects.
• Support new products through the full life cycle.
• Support existing products as necessary.
• Aid cross‑functional partners and departments as necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent engineering degree (required).
• Three to five years of embedded firmware/software programming experience (required).
• In‑depth experience with embedded microprocessor‑based design, including interfacing to analog and digital devices.
• Practical, hands‑on knowledge of C programming for embedded systems and use of various IDEs for development and debugging.
• Strong understanding of real‑time systems, managing interrupts, threads, scheduling, semaphores, and state machines with and without an RTOS.
• Hands‑on knowledge of standard wired and wireless network communication protocols and topologies, including Ethernet, I2C, RS232, RS485/422, SPI, BLE.
