SOPHiA GENETICS is seeking a Software Development Engineer for Internal Projects to craft internal tools and automations that accelerate our business. You will mainly build software hands-on, while advising leadership on engineering practices and benchmarks.

Join a hybrid Boston-based team and help embed capabilities that support data-driven medicine globally. This role blends coding with internal consulting and collaboration across functions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with a senior engineer or product manager background from a top tech company building complex products.
• Direct working experience with Generative AI tools to deploy functionality within an organisation.
• Strong hands-on building skills; you ship working software, not just diagrams; AI fluency is essential (LLMs, automation, modern AI tooling).
• Dialed into modern engineering and product practices.
• Confident operator - you can walk into any function, diagnose what's broken, and drive change.
• Strong change management instincts - you can win over skeptical teams and make new ways of working stick.
• Comfortable moving between strategy conversations and shipping code in the same week.

Enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule, partnering closely with colleagues and leaders (Like the VP, Corporate Strategy) 3 days per week at our corporate office in Boston, MA.

NB: This is an internally deployed role building and embedding functionality within our organisation, not an engineering role working on our customer facing AI/ML Platform.

Your Mission

Reporting to the VP, Corporate Strategy, you'll build internal products, automations, and workflows that improve how teams across the business operate. • Build internal products and automations: Work with teams across the company to identify useful internal projects and write the software that delivers them.
• Roll out tools that teams use: Help teams adopt the tools you build, with a focus on improving their day-to-day work and delivering business impact.
• Process and tooling improvements: Examine and improve internal tooling, data flows, and processes, including end-to-end data architecture, starting with sales.
• Internal consulting on engineering practices: Advise leadership on software development benchmarks and best practices, drawing on your own experience building and delivering software.
• Cross-functional alignment: Translate between business needs and technical decisions, and communicate clearly with engineering, product, and other teams.

• 5+ years of experience with a senior engineer or product manager background from a top tech company building complex products.
• Beyond engineering, you'll have direct working experience of working with Generative AI tools to deploy Functionallity or Enablement within an organisation.

MA Pay Range: $88,000 - $168,000
