Job summary

Metrobank is seeking an entry-level Security Threat Analyst to join the SOC. You will monitor security events, assess threats, and perform initial incident response while supporting asset discovery, vulnerability assessments, and remediation tracking.

You will stay current with threats, regulatory requirements, and industry trends, preparing reports to support operations and compliance in a 24x7 environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Security, Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Foundational understanding of IP networking, routing and switching and multiple OS.
• Self-starter with analytical mindset and passion for information security.
• Basic information security concepts and practices.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Programming skills and investigative capabilities for hosts, networks and apps.
• Knowledge of security technologies like SIEM, anti-malware, firewall, IPS/IDS, logging and vulnerability management.
• Basic knowledge of client-server and multi-tier web apps and databases.
• Strong task and delivery management abilities.
• Good written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze security events from multiple SOC sources to assess threat relevance and urgency.
• Monitor health and availability of security sensors, platforms, and endpoint protections.
• Investigate security alerts, identify root causes, and perform initial incident response.
• Create alert tickets with incident info and follow runbooks, escalating to Level 2 when needed.
• Conduct vulnerability scans and support remediation tracking.
• Administer and tune security monitoring tools and onboard new log sources.
• Develop use cases to improve detection capabilities and threat coverage.
• Recommend improvements to SOC processes and incident response playbooks.
• Stay updated on cyber threats, threat intelligence, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare security reports to support operations and compliance.
