A leading recruitment firm is seeking an experienced SMSF Manager (Lead Consultant) to oversee compliance and provide strategic advice to clients. The role involves managing a portfolio of clients, mentoring team members, and ensuring outstanding service in a collaborative environment. Strong knowledge of SMSF legislation and at least 5 years of relevant experience are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience in SMSF administration or related field.
  • Experience in financial services and Class Super software is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support a portfolio of clients by providing SMSF compliance and accounting services.
  • Review Australian Financial Statements and Annual Returns for SMSFs.
  • Administer superannuation events including fund establishment and benefit payments.
  • Liaise with internal teams and clients to ensure seamless operations.
  • Provide technical advice on SMSF matters and assist with audits.
  • Mentor and support team members within the SMSF division.

About the job SMFS Manager (Lead Consultant)

We are looking for an experienced SMSF Manager (Lead Consultant) to oversee the administration and compliance of Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs). This senior role provides strategic advice to clients, ensures compliance, and collaborates closely with our Private Clients and Wealth Management teams. It is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to both accounting and wealth management while supporting clients on advisory services and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and support a portfolio of clients by providing SMSF compliance and accounting services.
  • Review Australian Financial Statements, Annual Returns for SMSFs, and other compliance documents.
  • Administer various superannuation events, including fund establishment, benefit payments, pensions, rollovers, contributions, and fund wind-ups.
  • Liaise with internal teams, external providers, the ATO, and clients to ensure seamless SMSF operations.
  • Provide technical advice on SMSF matters and assist with annual audits.
  • Mentor and support team members within the SMSF division.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Strong knowledge of Australian SMSF legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in SMSF administration or a related field.
  • CA or equivalent qualification (or working toward completion).
  • Relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualification.
  • Experience in financial services and Class Super software is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive approach to learning, with training and ongoing guidance provided on SMSF rules and practices.
