Qualifications

• Excellent coordination and precision in welding tasks.

Job description

Key responsibilities

• Operate Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) equipment to join metal components and structures according to blueprints and specifications

• Prepare work surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and positioning materials in preparation for welding

• Inspect completed welds for quality, strength, and adherence to specifications using visual inspection and testing methods

• Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications to ensure accurate fabrication

• Maintain and perform routine maintenance on welding equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety

• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects on schedule and within quality standards

• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment at all times

• Document and report on work completed, including materials used and time spent on projects

What we're looking for

• Valid SMAW welding certification such as NCII from TESDA

• Proven experience working as a welder in the trades and services industry, preferably in boilermaking or structural fabrication

• Strong knowledge of welding techniques, safety protocols, and metal properties

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately

• Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for precision welding work

• Physical stamina and ability to work in varied positions and potentially challenging working conditions

• Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work consistently

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment

• Knowledge of quality assurance standards and testing procedures for welds

• Previous experience with structural steel is desirable
