A construction and engineering firm in the Philippines is seeking a Senior Licensed Professional Electrical Engineer to lead complex electrical engineering projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for design, project management, and team leadership, requiring a valid PE license and significant experience in electrical engineering. This role offers the opportunity to work on power generation and commercial infrastructure projects.
The Senior Licensed Professional Electrical Engineer will provide expert-level electrical engineering design, analysis, and project leadership for complex projects in power generation, industrial infrastructure, and commercial/institutional buildings. This position requires holding a valid professional engineering license, which is essential for serving as the Engineer of Record and taking legal responsibility for all design documents.
Engineer of Record: Serve as the Engineer of Record by signing and sealing official electrical construction drawings, specifications, and reports to certify compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEEE, NESC, local building codes).
System Design: Lead the complete design of medium and low voltage power distribution systems, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, lightning protection, and essential power systems (generators, UPS).
Advanced Analysis: Perform and review complex power system studies, including load flow, short-circuit, protective device coordination, and arc-flash analysis using software like ETAP or SKM.
Technical Specifications: Develop detailed equipment specifications and scope documents for procurement, ensuring alignment with project requirements and industry best practices.
Project Management: Manage all electrical aspects of assigned projects from conceptual design through construction and commissioning, ensuring work is delivered on time and within budget.
Team Leadership: Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior engineers and designers, overseeing their calculations and deliverables.
Inter-Discipline Coordination: Collaborate extensively with other engineering disciplines (Civil, Mechanical, Structural, Architecture) to ensure seamless integration and resolution of all design conflicts.
Client & Stakeholder Management: Serve as a primary technical contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies, presenting design solutions and addressing all technical inquiries (RFIs and submittals).
Power Plants & Utilities: Experience in switchyard design, generator interconnection, relay protection schemes, and control systems for power generation or utility infrastructure projects.
Infrastructure & Industrial: Design experience for substations, industrial control panels, motor control centers (MCCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), and large-scale utility distribution systems.
Buildings & Commercial: Proficiency in designing electrical systems for commercial, healthcare, educational, or large institutional facilities, including building services and energy efficiency measures.
Experience: 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering design and construction administration.
License: Current Professional Engineer (PE) License in Electrical Engineering. (Must be able to obtain reciprocal licensing in other states as required.)
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
Technical Proficiency:
Expertise with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
Proficiency with Power System Analysis software (e.g., ETAP, SKM, PSS/E).
Key Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; demonstrated ability to lead projects, manage budgets, and communicate complex technical information effectively in writing and verbally.
