Job summary

AboitizPower is seeking a dedicated Simulator Instructor to train cadets and plant personnel, delivering high-quality sessions with Ovation tools and engineering applications. You will collaborate with the Technical Academy to design lessons, assess operators, and strengthen DCS-related knowledge in a safety-conscious environment.

We value experienced engineers with power-plant design and operations know-how, plus at least three years of teaching experience and two years in a control room.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in a relevant field is required.
• At least 3 years teaching engineering subjects, especially power plant design/operations.
• At least 2 years experience in a power plant control room.
• Knowledge of coal-fired power plant theories and Ovation software.

Responsibilities

• Design & Lead Training: prepare lesson plans, conduct simulator training, and evaluate trainee performance.
• Assess Operators: perform assessments before confirming positions.
• Provide DCS Technical Support: develop, test, and implement control logic with Ovation Embedded Simulator.
• Drive the Cadetship Program: assist in developing and teaching training plans with international programs.

As Simulator Instructor, your main purpose will be to provide high-quality simulator training to qualified cadets and plant personnel and contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with Technical Academy team to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Design & Lead Training:Prepare lesson plans, conduct initial and ongoing simulator training on Ovation Operator and Engineering Applications, and evaluate trainee performance.
• Assess Operators:Perform crucial assessments of Control Room Operators and Assistant Control Room Operators before they are confirmed in their positions.
• Provide DCS Technical Support:Collaborate with plant stakeholders to develop, test, and implement control system logic and build mathematical models using the Ovation Embedded Simulator.
• Drive the Cadetship Program:Assist in developing and teaching overall training plans with international training center programs.

What You Will Need:

• Graduate of any Engineering course, preferably Electrical Engineering or Electronics and Communications Engineering.
• At least three (3) years of experience teaching Engineering subjects, particularly in power plant design and operations.
• At least two (2) years of experience working in a power plant control room.
• With knowledge of coal-fired power plant theories and principles, plant systems, power generation technologies, and Ovation embedded simulator software.
