The Sheet Metal Detailer is responsible for preparing detailed shop and fabrication drawings for sheet metal components. Working closely with engineers, architects, and fabricators, the detailer ensures all designs meet project specifications, standards, and are optimized for manufacturing.
- Associate’s degree or technical diploma in drafting, engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Detailer, or in a related detailing/drafting position.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other relevant programs).
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and architectural/engineering plans.
- Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards for sheet metal design and fabrication.
- Expertise in computer-aided design (CAD) software for drafting and modeling.
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Strong communication skills for working with engineers, architects, and fabricators.
- Develop 3D models and 2D layout drawings using CAD software, ensuring precision and adherence to project requirements.
- Interpret technical blueprints, sketches, and plans, converting them into detailed designs for production.
