Job summary

Powertech Asia Pacific, Inc. in Metro Manila is seeking a generator service technician to install, commission, test, and maintain diesel and gas generator sets, transfer switches, and related panels, ensuring safety and OEM compliance.

You will diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, perform load tests, keep accurate service records, and communicate repair recommendations to customers. A 2+ year background in generator servicing and a valid driver’s license are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience servicing diesel/gas-powered generators or similar equipment.
• Reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on generator sets and associated equipment (transfer switches, fuel systems, batteries, control panels, etc.).
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues on various generator brands.
• Conduct load bank testing and battery testing.
• Maintain accurate service records, including job reports, maintenance logs, and parts used.
• Ensure all work is done safely and complies with company policies, OEM guidelines, and local codes.
• Communicate clearly with customers to explain issues, repairs, and preventive maintenance recommendations.
• Maintain company tools, vehicles, and equipment in good condition.
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service calls, including nights, weekends, or holidays as needed.

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED); vocational/technical school or OEM certifications preferred.
• 2+ years of experience servicing diesel/gas-powered generators or similar equipment.
• Working knowledge of internal combustion engines, AC/DC electrical systems, and generator controls.
• Familiarity with brands such as Cummins, Generac, Kohler, Caterpillar, or MTU is a strong plus.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer proficiency (e.g., for service documentation or OEM diagnostic software).
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record advantage
