Job summary

Citi is seeking a senior Credit Underwriting Manager to lead a team of underwriting analysts within its Institutional Credit Management group, a first-line-of-defense function responsible for end-to-end wholesale credit risk management across Citi's institutional client base.

In this role, you will own a portfolio of corporate client relationships, drive credit approval decisions, and set the standard for rigorous credit analysis across Corporate Banking, Services, and Markets, with direct

Qualifications

• 10+ years of credit risk or credit underwriting experience in banking.
• Ability to manage a portfolio of institutional client relationships.
• Strong credit risk assessment and timely credit reviews.
• Knowledge of capital markets products and complex financing structures.
• Experience engaging with regulators, internal audit, external auditors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; present to senior audiences.
• High ethical standards and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end credit underwriting for institutional clients from origination to memo presentation.
• Review and sign-off on financial analysis, projections, stress tests, and risk ratings.
• Articulate credit recommendations to Risk in written and verbal form.
• Partner with Front Office to structure transactions and negotiate docs.
• Serve as primary contact for audits, regulators, and control functions.
• Manage and develop a team of underwriting analysts.
• Monitor macroeconomic developments and apply insights to reviews.
