Job summary

CivilGrid seeks a Senior UX Designer to shape how civil engineers and GIS teams interact with dense spatial data. You will own end-to-end design for your area, partnering with PMs, engineers, and a UX researcher to ship polished experiences.

You will translate maps and workflow data into intuitive interfaces, contribute to the design system, and balance speed with craft in a hybrid Boston, MA setting.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of product design experience, including data-dense or technical B2B products.
• Portfolio showing strong end-to-end thinking and reasoning behind key decisions.
• Comfort designing for dense, structured data (maps, tables, layered information).
• Ability to work independently from ambiguous problems to a shippable design.
• Strong collaboration instincts with engineers and executives.

Responsibilities

• Own design end to end for your area from concept to shipped product.
• Partner with PMs and engineers as a true thought partner on scope and trade-offs.
• Translate complex spatial and workflow data into simple interfaces.
• Work with the UX researcher to ground decisions and run lightweight testing.
• Contribute to and evolve the design system as the product grows.
• Move fast to get designs in front of stakeholders and users early.
