You will build tests from user stories, run them, and report results to ensure smooth releases. Strong automation expertise and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical field.
• 3+ years of software QA and automated testing experience.
• Experience with front-end, microservices, and/or serverless testing environments.

We are looking for a Senior Test Automation Engineer to independently and collaboratively test one or more applications, with a focus on automation testing and manual testing when needed.

In this role, you will build test cases from user stories and requirements, execute tests, and communicate results to ensure successful product releases. Strong quality engineering skills are essential to help expand our automation capabilities, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on manual testing, programming, and debugging
• Lead and mentor less experienced team members
• Develop a deep understanding of the business objectives and product requirements
• Conduct testing on one or more projects, determining the appropriate automation approach
• Communicate with project teams to understand build features, requirements, and releases
• Design tests that meet functional and performance requirements and satisfy user acceptance criteria
• Work with the Scrum team to drive Test Driven Development, ensuring modules are tested right away for immediate feedback
• Follow existing testing tools and practices while providing recommendations for improvement
• Conduct peer reviews of tests or scripts built by other team members
• Confirm user stories and requirements are met, and ensure defects are quickly and clearly communicated
• Track progress and provide daily and/or weekly status reports, anticipating and raising potential issues that impact quality or delivery
• Assist with troubleshooting production issues to determine if a potential defect exists
• Stay current with new technologies and testing tools
• Collaborate with product on user stories, engineering on architecture and design, and operations on environments and deployments
• Guide and direct onshore and offshore consultants on the team when needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other technical discipline
• 3+ years of experience in software QA and automated testing
• Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript, utilizing Playwright or WebdriverIO
• Background in automated testing of front-end, microservices, and/or serverless applications
• Skills in testing REST APIs, writing SQL queries, and testing DB migrations
• Familiarity with issue and test management tools such as Jira, QMetry, or TestRail
• Experience working with version control systems and integrating tests into a CI/CD pipeline
• Expertise in utilizing Playwright capabilities and MCPs in daily work
• Understanding of and experience testing in cloud environments, particularly AWS
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Proficiency in English at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher
