Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH is seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our Global IT organization in Manila. You will implement secure, scalable infrastructure using IaC and cloud services to support both new and existing applications.

You will work with Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS, and CI/CD tools, participate in agile teams, and uphold security practices, monitoring, and Day2 operations across global environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology.
• Hands-on experience with IaaS cloud services (AWS).
• Strong IaC experience using Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Solid SDLC understanding with DevOps and CI/CD.
• Networking and security knowledge (VPN, VPC, firewalls).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement standard IaC solutions using Terraform/CloudFormation.
• Manage and upgrade legacy IaC stacks.
• Respond to cloud environment issues and monitor alerts.
• Assist users with access and security best practices (MFA, key management).
• Ensure health of cloud environments including patching, backups, and performance.
• Create Runbooks and support documentation.
• Adhere to ITIL processes and agile practices with product teams.
• Migrate to new releases of Terraform, Bitbucket, etc.

Join our Global IT organization as a Cloud DevOps Engineer.

The Cloud Foundations product provides a suite of secure, well-governed global cloud services. It delivers standards, best practices, and well-architected cloud solutions that support the development and operation of both new and existing Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and serverless computing environments.

Built on agile methodologies, the product enables digital products and use cases by providing scalable, reliable, and modern cloud capabilities across the organization.

Duties & Responsibilities:

As a member of Cloud Foundation DevOps, the Cloud DevOps Engineer responsibilities are as follows:

• Developing and implementing Boehringer standard solutions using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation) in an organizational level e.g. network, patching, backup, policies, access, etc.
• Managing existing and upgrading/migrating legacy Infrastructure as Code stacks.
• Responding to cloud environment issues and monitoring alerts (ex. portal access, security findings, etc.)
• Assisting users with access-related issues and requests using tools to ensure adherence to security best practices including MFA, key management, etc.
• Ensuring the overall health of all Cloud environments with regards to patching, anti-virus, backups, performance thresholds, etc...
• Assisting the users with any Day2 troubleshooting issues.
• Migrating to new releases of Terraform, Bitbucket, etc.
• Creating and maintaining Runbook and other support documentation.
• Adhere to ITIL processes (change, problem, configure, incident management).
• Apply agile methodology and the Scrum framework while working closely with the product development team and the product owner

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology
• Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Cloud based hands on experience in AWS
• Strong working experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) especially working with Terraforms and AWS Cloud Formation
• Solid knowledge and understanding of the software development lifecycle utilizing the DevOps framework around CI/CD.
• Very good understanding and experience in networking and security knowledge, such as routing, firewall, VPN, TCP/IP, VPC, SG, Anti-virus, security risk remediation etc.

Mandatory Skills:

• Good track record of hands-on working experience with AWS services.
• Experience supporting production Cloud work loads using native and 3rd party tools.
• Good interpersonal skills especially with a diverse and global user base.
• Good knowledge of CI/CD tools, processes, and procedures (e.g. Jenkins)
• Good knowledge of code and binary repositories (e.g. GitHub or BitBucket)
• Good knowledge of Terraform or equivalent provisioning and automation tooling for building, changing, and versioning infrastructure
• Some knowledge of Automation and Configuration Management toolsets (e.g. Ansible)
• Hands on experience in scripting skills like PowerShell, Ruby, Python, or Bash
• Hands on experience and good working knowledge with Infrastructure as Code concepts
• Strong command of English language (both verbal and written)
