Job summary

WSP Philippines seeks a Senior Sustainability Consultant to lead complex building and infrastructure sustainability engagements and deliver high-value client solutions.

You will apply advanced sustainability principles, develop project briefings, run modelling tasks, and mentor graduates while collaborating with project managers and internal teams on multiple initiatives worldwide.

Qualifications

• Degree in Architecture / Engineering or other environmental qualifications.
• 6+ years of experience as Sustainability Consultant or similar role.
• Strong client and project management skills for complex sustainability engagements.
• Knowledge of sustainability accreditation schemes and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Handling deliverables for medium and larger projects.
• Maintain professional behaviour aligned with a WSP standard.
• Apply sustainability/ESD principles to solve complex problems.
• Liaise with project managers to develop project briefings and sourcing information.
• Produce models, designs and reports to meet client requirements.
• Present at and contribute to internal meetings.
• Train graduates in sustainability software such as Fr5, IES.
• Attend local resources meetings to manage team workloads.

Main Activities and Responsibilities

• Handling deliverables for medium and larger projects;
• At all times exhibit behaviour, consistent with that of a professional member of WSP.
• Applying a deep understanding of sustainability/ESD principles to solve complex problems;
• Liaising with project managers and other team members to develop project briefings and sourcing information;
• Producing models, designs and reports to meet client requirements for projects, and;
• Present at and proactively contribute to internal meetings.
• Training new graduates and new hires in Sustainability softwares such as Fr5, IES, etc.
• Attending local resources meetings to solve and manage workloads for the team.

Experience, skills, and organisational knowledge

• Degree in Architecture / Engineering or any other Environmental relevant qualifications.
• Ideally 6+ years of industry experience as a Sustainability Consultant or a similar role
• Exceptional client management and project management skills and experience, leading the sustainability scope of complex building, infrastructure or strategic sustainability engagements
• Astute financial acumen and a sense of high value for projects and clients.
• Your developing industry profile and activity:
  • Demonstrated passion for sustainability
  • High level of technical capability to assist with calculations and modelling exercises
  • Ability to use basic theoretical knowledge of engineering principles to analyse, interpret and conclude project requirements and challenges
  • Proactive and Passionate about developing solutions for a low-Carbon, sustainably built environment
  • Preferred sustainability accreditations that may include GSAP, ISAP, NatHERs Assessor, NABERS Assessor, LEED, CBP, etc. Experience in the application of one or more of the following:
    • Sustainability certification schemes (Green Star, IS ratings, NABERS, NatHERS, LEED, BERDE)
    • High-performance building design and optimisation skills, such as operational energy efficiency, embodied carbon calculations, daylight design, water efficiency, climate resilience, thermal comfort
    • Climate change risks, opportunities, and impacts
    • Corporate sustainability strategies and ESG reporting
