Job summary

Lifted, an Upwork Company™, is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to help train and evaluate AI systems that tackle complex structural problems. This remote, contract role focuses on designing realistic training tasks and reference solutions.

You will work with experts to create scenarios using OpenSees, analyze design challenges, and provide precise feedback to improve model performance while adhering to code standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's/PhD a plus).
• Professional experience in structural analysis and design.
• Hands-on experience with OpenSees.
• Knowledge of ACI 318, AISC 360, or Eurocode EN 1992/93/98.
• Experience with nonlinear modeling, pushover/response spectrum analysis.
• Ability to write clear, technical documentation.
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage your schedule.

Responsibilities

• Design AI training tasks based on structural engineering concepts.
• Create clear problem statements covering analysis, design, and code compliance.
• Develop reference solutions and scoring criteria for AI outputs.
• Build tasks using OpenSees and related methodologies.
• Create evaluation scenarios: pushover, seismic design, FEA, RC design, steel connections.
• Review AI-generated solutions for accuracy and compliance.
• Provide structured feedback to improve AI performance.
• Work independently in a fully remote, flexible environment.
